Leading Without Answers? Read This Before You Burn Out.

Trying to lead when leadership goes quiet is its own kind of hell.

You're expected to be calm, clear, and confident... with none of the information you actually need.

Meanwhile, your team's asking questions (rightfully so), your inbox is full of anxiety, and you're wading through a fog of "maybes" and "we'll sees."

The thing is, silence from the top creates burnout.

Especially for mid-level leaders, support roles, and anyone who ends up being the glue during chaotic transitions.

So, here are some things you can try immediately:

  1. Create a "Known / Unknown / Assumed" list. Get the swirling thoughts out of your head and onto paper.
  2. Say this to your team: "I'll update you every Friday, even if there's nothing new." Predictability builds trust.
  3. Say this to your boss: "Even a weekly 'still pending' would help us focus. Can we put that in place?" That's showing leadership and being proactive, not complaining.

I break this all down in this week's podcast episode.

We'll cover:

  • Why silence happens and how it triggers your nervous system.
  • What mid-level leaders are carrying behind the scenes.
  • How to advocate for clarity.
  • When silence becomes a pattern worth leaving.

So, if you've been leading through the fog, give this episode a listen. It won't magically fix the silence, but it will give you language, validation, and some tools to carry you through it.

Hang in there,
